Lush

I hardly ever buy products from Lush as they are quite pricey. However, i ventured in there today after college and purchased an Ocean facial scrub for dry skin (i suffer from it quite badly). I used it earlier and my skin feels lovely. £6.95 for 100g won't last me long, so will probably buy the 250g pot next time =)

Body images

What is it with the obsession of being size zero? We are faced with so called celebrities everyday, they squeeze themselves into ridiculous outfits and young women follow suit.
Take Jennifer Lopez for example, she is clearly not a naturally slim person yet she puts herself through grueling work-outs at the gym on a daily basis, she has children! Priorities clearly go out of the window with many women when they have children; weight gain, loss of confidence etc, the focus should be on the children and not on how much weight you have gained!

There are, of course people and celebrities who are naturally slim and get unfair treatment because they can eat pretty much what they want and not gain weight as an average woman might. Kate Moss immediately springs to mind, when pregnant with daughter Lila-Grace, she had a neat little bump and was back to her size 6 clothes in no time.

Accepting who you are, is the hardest thing in the world as no-one is ever content with their looks, body or their personality. Once these things are accepted, happiness is possible. It does not matter if your nose is too big, eyes too small, it is what inside that counts. The media adds fuel to fire with constant images of "perfect" bodies and the average woman cannot be that, they have families, full-time jobs. When they open the paper, they are bombarded with images.

No-one is perfect, there is no perfect body, there is no perfect face. Personality and being a good person is what counts, not depriving yourself to stay a size 6.

Real

I was reading Charles Dickens' biography last night and it just inspired me to write this. It would be nice to get a little feedback.

Real

Beauty, capture the Earth's smile,
absent,
agonisingly loud music shields what is real,
sun beats down, bearing it's rays,
history books dusty,
alone, no thumbed pages.

A lone horse,
once a vehicle,
now a spectacle.
Damp residue, cramped families,
a bed of hay,
rumbling stomachs.

An easy life now,
remote controls, macbooks, i-phones,
not good enough?

old photo

found this photo on my phone which my boyfriend took a few months ago, and yes, that is alcohol in my hands! =D Photobucket t-shirt, cardigan and tights - topshop skirt - 2nd hand belt - ebay is anybody else having problems with the new layout??? xoxo

not a poem, but it's getting posted here

This is a touchy subject for a lot of people, just because you do not have a drink as soon as you awake in the morning, or have the shakes, it does mean you are not alcohol dependant. Society these days, is based around getting as wasted as you can and having sexual relations with as many people as you can. How would our ancestors feel? They would be spinning in their graves. Nightclubs charging £1 a drink on student nights is only encouraging this behaviour. Cheap booze at the local corner shop, is making gulliable young people have health problems. These people need to take a long look at their lives at realise that life is a gift. Getting so drunk you can't remember the night, or how you got home, is pathetic. When are these people going to wake up and smell the coffee?? It IS possible to go out, get drunk, but STILL get home in one piece. Look at George Best, alcohol completely ruined his life. He was the best footballer to come out of England for a long time, he wasted his life getting drunk. Alcoholics do not just appear on The Jeremy Kyle Show, anybody who has to get completely wasted every single weekend, is alcohol dependant.
