New dress! :)

I picked up this dress from Topshop today, needed cheering up as have had some job issues :(. I'm sure i'll bounce back but my confidence is at an all time low. I entered a poetry competition yesterday for the first time in a couple of months, will try and entre at least 3 a month from now on!



retails at £35, my boyfriend convinced me to buy it :)

brain overload

cannot keep up with this jigsaw
a glass of wine at my fingertips
fingers rapping at the keyboard
without notion
must keep focused on the task.

log onto facebook and look at friends old and new
judging whether or not to add them in case they reject you
not the end of the world
but hurts all the same.

wishing and waiting for the doorbell to ring
take me away from the hole that is life
sip the wine and gather thoughts
take a breath
and pause for thought.

Real

I was reading Charles Dickens' biography last night and it just inspired me to write this. It would be nice to get a little feedback.

Real

Beauty, capture the Earth's smile,

absent, 

agonisingly loud music shields what is real,

sun beats down, bearing it's rays,

history books dusty,

alone, no thumbed pages.

A lone horse,

once a vehicle,

now a spectacle.

Damp residue, cramped families,

a bed of hay,

rumbling stomachs.

An easy life now,

remote controls, macbooks, i-phones,

not good enough?
